A Note about Submissions

We are not a gallery, and we do not take submissions. The artists on the site are all artists that we know, artists that we socialize with, whose openings we attend, and who we care about not only as artists, but as people. The site features not only outstanding artists, but also documents real artists network/community as it expands and grows. We have a long list of artists that we have yet to add, and over time, it should prove to be an interesting microcosm of one small part of the greater art community.

Thank You,
Samantha Fields

Architect Rem Koolhaas saw what Vegas didn't have, not what it needed

Dutch architect's Guggenheim Hermitage Museum closes at the Venetian Hotel, evidence that the city's visitors seek glitz and gambling, not art and culture.

LAS VEGAS -- Like a lot of Las Vegas marriages, the one between the Venetian Hotel and the Guggenheim Museum was born of some seriously misplaced optimism. Presided over by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, with St. Petersburg's Hermitage Museum standing by as a comically out-of-place bridesmaid, the union was planned in the late 1990s, when the Guggenheim brand and the transformative power of high-design architecture both seemed unassailable.
